Lena Schwenker
Lena Schwenker studied Nutritional Sciences (B. Sc.) at the University of Hohenheim and Molecular Biosciences (M. Sc.) at the University of Heidelberg. During her studies she was actively involved in research, e. g. at the German Institute for Cancer Research (DKFZ). Her research focused on the role of lipids in field of metabolism and cancer. Since 2020 she has been active as a science communicator, e. g. on Instagram, as manager for Pint of Science Heidelberg and co-moderator of the project RealScientists DE. In 2022 she was part of the editorial team of wissenschaftskommunikation.de at NaWik. Since October 2022 she is working as a full-time science communicator and communications manager at the Communications Department and the Institute for Diabetes Research at Helmholtz Munich. An example of her projects is the awareness campaign K1DS ARE HEROES, that has been awarded with the Quadriga Digital Communications Award 2023.
