Dr. Annika Bremhorst

Dr. Annika Bremhorst holds a PhD in behavioural biology and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bern. Her research lies at the intersection of animal behaviour, veterinary science, and artificial intelligence. She investigates how internal states such as pain and emotions in dogs and horses can be identified through behaviour—and how this knowledge can be applied in practice based on scientific evidence. She is widely connected internationally and collaborates with leading research institutions.
In addition to her research, she is actively involved in science communication. Through her platform Dogs and Science, she makes scientifically grounded knowledge from canine science accessible to professionals and dog owners.
