Dr. David Spencer

Dr David Spencer is a biologist and science communicator specialising in plant research and agriculture. After completing his PhD in resistance breeding at RWTH Aachen University, he devoted himself entirely to communicating science through science slams, podcasts and video formats. Under the name ‘Krautnah’, he produced a BMBF-funded podcast, which is now being continued as a YouTube channel. In 2022, David was awarded the SciComm Award by the German Botanical Society. Two popular science books (“Alles bio – logisch?!” and “Wurzelreich”) have been published by Droemer Knaur Verlag.
