All NaWik training courses are aimed at researchers, students and communication and public relations professionals who want to develop their communication skills. The workshops and courses not only teach the basics of successful science communication, but also deepen these through practical exercises.

The aim is to present topics clearly and concisely so that they resonate with the target group. At the same time, your own communication strategy is reflected upon and expanded to include effective techniques. Whether it’s an in-person workshop on the basics of science communication, an online workshop on producing podcasts or an e-learning course on presenting science – the courses on offer are varied and scientifically sound.

AI in Science Communication

Artificial intelligence can help make complex research understandable, engaging and accessible. In this training, participants will learn how to make effective use of AI-powered tools in science communication – for example, when drafting clear written messages or creating impactful images. Using practical examples, the course also addresses issues of quality assurance, responsibility and ethical boundaries when working with generative AI.

Science Communication in Grant Proposals

Science communication strategies have become an integral part of grant proposals. This course helps participants effectively incorporate science communication into their funding applications and successfully implement the communication projects outlined in their proposals.

Media Training for Scientists

Our media training prepares researchers for interview situations and exchanges with journalists. You will learn how to present yourself confidently in front of a microphone and camera, explain complex topics clearly and act confidently in a studio atmosphere - for target group-oriented and convincing communication in the media.

Producing Science Podcasts

Podcasts are an excellent tool for communicating science in an engaging and relatable way. In this course, participants will learn how to effectively convey their content to a diverse audience. They will receive an introduction to podcast planning, production and marketing, enabling them to develop a solid concept and present their content creatively and attractively.

Modern science communication bridges the gap between research, society, and politics. The "Participatory Science Communication" format focuses on fostering constructive dialogue and effective collaboration among various stakeholders in science communication.

Our workshops and courses are available in various formats, tailored to individual learning needs. Whether in-person, online or as a digital self-study course – each format specifically promotes the development of skills in science communication.

In-person Workshop

Direct exchange and practical application: Our face-to-face workshops offer a focused learning environment with a real break away from the daily work routine. The focus here is on direct exchange with trainers and the group. Interactive exercises and practical methods make the content tangible and firmly anchored. The intensive learning experience leaves a lasting impression. Our workshops take place either at your institution or in the NaWik course room.

Online Workshop

Location-independent learning in the virtual classroom: our online training courses bring participants together online at fixed training times. The units – two or three half days – can be easily integrated into everyday working life. Each training session is accompanied live by two trainers and takes place in small groups to enable intensive exchange and individual feedback.

E-learning Course

Learn when and where it suits: our e-learning courses enable flexible self-study with multimedia and interactive content – from quizzes to texts, videos to animations. Participants work through the modules at their own pace and receive targeted feedback through exemplary solutions. Self-tests allow users to check their own learning progress.
