Online-Workshop: Producing Science Podcasts

In the online workshop, participants learn how to strategically use podcasts for their science communication.
During scheduled workshop sessions, they develop their own podcast concepts, practice writing for audio, and learn basic techniques for recording and editing.
Small groups and direct feedback from two instructors create an intensive, hands-on learning environment – completely independent of location.

General conditions and key data

  • Duration: Three half-days (each 3.5 hours incl. breaks)
  • Time: 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
  • Maximum number of participants: 9 people
  • Languages: German or English
  • The online workshop is conducted by two trainers
  • After successful participation the participants will receive a certificate
  • We would be happy to share the training evaluation results with you afterward
  • At the end of the first day, the participants will receive an assignment to be completed and discussed together by the second session. Please make sure to allocate sufficient time for completing the assignment
  • This format is also available as an in-person workshop
  • Please also note: NaWik events are aimed at long-term learning success. We would therefore like to point out to people who have already taken part in a NaWik training course that important core elements such as the NaWik arrow are repeated in all courses

Technical Requirements

The online workshop is conducted using the video conferencing software Zoom. If exercises are included in the training context, they are carried out using Google Office solutions (e.g., Google Docs or Google Forms). These applications are used within the framework of the GDPR-compliant enterprise solution Google G Suite.
Participants do not need a personal Google account to use these tools.
All tools used (Zoom & G Suite) have been reviewed for data protection compliance and meet GDPR requirements, ensuring that participants’ personal data is protected.
